What Is PressEX™?

PressEX™ — short for "Pressure Exercise" — is a movement method built around patented equipment developed by Dr. Meena McCullough, PT. It activates your body's connective tissue (fascia) through what we call Force Transmission Pathways, engaging muscles and fascia together to build stability, mobility, balance, and strength — with some clients reporting instant pain relief.

Dr. Meena developed the method herself, after earning her physical therapy degree and struggling to find relief from her own injuries using traditional approaches.

Your body, your history, your goals — nothing generic, nothing shared.

Backed by Research

Dr. Meena McCullough's study with the University of North Texas Health Science Center validates PressEX's effectiveness. The research focused on the gluteus medius — a muscle critical to hip stability and movement efficiency — and found:

  • 5x more muscle activation — PressEX™ significantly increased gluteus medius engagement compared to traditional resistance bands.

  • Enhanced neuromuscular response — greater activation of peripheral nerves, leading to improved movement patterns.

  • Immediate and lasting results — clients report instant improvements in strength, flexibility, and pain relief.

How PressEX™ Works

PressEX™ trains your body like a human spring — combining a specific body position, applied pressure, and resistance to activate fascia and muscle together.

  1. Fascial stretch position — your body is placed in a position that stretches the fascia.

  2. Pressure sensation — you apply light pressure to the PressEX™ Bars, engaging the body's built-in pressure sensors.

  3. Opposing force — muscles engage against resistance in the opposite direction, building strength and activating fascia.

  4. Nerve activation — peripheral nerve endings are stimulated, which some clients describe as a "magical feeling."

Some clients describe the effect as "foot reflexology, but for the muscles."

It's not just about isolated moves, either. Biomechanics is complex — every joint moves in relation to the others at the same time. Just as an algebra equation needs multiple variables to solve, PressEX™ combines multiple movement steps together to get the full result.

The PressEX™ Bars are the tool that makes carrying out the method possible.

Why It Starts With Your Feet and Ankles

The subtalar joint plays a key role in transmitting force from the ground up through your legs, hips, and spine. When it's stiff or locked, it creates movement issues that cause pain elsewhere in the body. PressEX™ restores proper foot function to prevent injury and improve mobility.

Key focus areas:

Building the arch

strengthens both pronation (flattening) and supination (raising) for better balance.

Locking and unlocking the foot

Mobilizes foot joints for better force absorption and efficiency.

Subtalar joint mobility

Ensures smooth force transmission to reduce knee and hip pain.

The result:

Better foot and ankle stability means less strain on your knees, hips, and lower back — restoring natural movement patterns and helping prevent injury.

The Science Behind the Method

Active engagement vs. passive techniques

Active muscle engagement releases fascia while building muscle memory for long-term mobility.

Ground reaction forces

PressEX™ harnesses forces from the ground to activate fascia from the feet up, improving movement efficiency.

PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

Uses tension and relaxation to improve flexibility and strength.

Resistive exercises

Strengthens fascia while promoting muscle memory and tissue alignment.

Subtalar joint mobilization

Reverse Windlass Mechanism

Strengthens pronation/supination of the foot for better balance, mobility, and force transmission.
